New Minister for Clyne Free Mission

A recent headline in the 'Together Magazine' of the F.I.E.C. read...'Many Gospel churches are small, with up to 45% of churches affiliated to F.I.E.C. having 25 or fewer members'. Clyne Free Mission is such a Church. However, instead of waiting for decline to further overtake them, the members faithfully prayed for God to provide new ministry amongst them. Clyne Free mission's new Minister was Ordained and Inducted to the Pastorate on November 1st 2014 in answer to those prayers. While this is his first Pastoral appointment, Peter Mitchell has been involved in Christian Ministry with the Beulah faith Mission, Aberdare as a lay preacher and as the Bookshop Manager for 30 years.

He is married to Val and has one daughter who lives locally with her husband Grant and their three children.

His relationship to Clyne Mission began many years ago with the late Pastor Len Sparkes undertaking many years of regular Bible study at Aberdare. Over the years Clyne members under the guidance of Pastor Sparkes, showed great resilience and faith in God to overcome the problem of the destruction of the Church building following an arson attack! The new building was opened in 2001 to the glory of God.

The Ordination and Induction services were led by Rev A. Pitt, Park Baptist Church Merthyr. Mr. Lyn Steele (Trustee and Elder) spoke of the history of the call. The Church was packed with a congregation of 130 to hear the Rev. Bernard Lewis, Emmanuel Evangelical Church Newport speak in the afternoon and in the evening service to hear the Rev. Adrian Brake, Bryngolwg Free Mission Mountain Ash. All who attended were blessed with great Gospel hymn singing and expository preaching of God's word.
